In order to make IE4.X to work with FXP IRC, users have to perform the following steps on his/her IE browser. Basically you give IE permisson to allow applet to open socket connection to any IRC server in the world. This is considered "high risk", and you should decide if you really want to do it or not. It is also recommended that you turn off customize Java security model when you finish visiting FXP IRC.

• Step 1
  Select Internet Zone. Under "Security" menu, check the "Custom" checkbox.
  Then press the "Settings" button.

  

• Step 2
  Scroll down until you see "Java". Check the checkbox that say "Custom". Press the "Java Custom Setting button".

  

• Step 3
  Under "Access to all Network address", check the "Enable" checkbox.
